I’m exploring how to create these fiber structures that will have projections mapped on to them. I envision strips of white fibers, hanging from the ceiling. They need to be soft and responsive.
I had nuno felted some structures for Sonic Webs. Nuno felting incorporates other fibers into the wet felting process. Silk and other porous materials respond well, such as thin nylons (aka pantyhose). Wool roving layers are interspersed with other pieces of fiber (silk, nylons, etc). Here I used wool roving and silk hankies.
I love how they turned out, yet I’m not convinced it’s a good fit for Luciferins. They are quite light and delicate.
